Name: Ann-Sophie Provencher

Sex: Female

Age: 14

Country: Canada

Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy

The first Treatment Date: 2008-06-30

Days Admitted: 45

The second treatment Date: 2009-12-25

Days Admitted: 22

Medical History:

Ann-Sophie was nearly suffocated because the amniotic fluid entered both lungs at birth. Six hours later, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She received oxygen therapy in the local hospital. Six months later, she was diagnosed with epilepsy and received anti-epileptic medication. Within the last 4 years, she has not had any outbreaks of epilepsy. She had myotenolysis in the left leg. At present, her growth is normal, all four limbs can move freely without any signs of dyskinesia. She suffered from hyperactivity. Both upper limbs can be outstretched, but often assume the flexure position. She has difficulty bending both wrists fully. There is spastic movement in both legs but the left leg is more obvious.

Ann-Sophie's family members found out about Wu Stem Cells Medical Center from the internet. After reading several stories describing former and current patients who suffer from cerebral palsy, and consulting with our doctors, the decision was made to come to our medical center for treatment.

Treatment:

Ann-Sophie was given autologous stem cell activation treatment in order to expand the blood vessels and nourish the neurons, strengthen the body's immune system, and then she underwent the stem cell transplantation procedure. This was combined with comprehensive rehabilitation therapy.

Post Treatment:

Ann-Sophie's condition is stable, and her speech is more fluent than before.      Ann-Sophie has control over the muscles in her back and can maintain good posture while either kneeling or standing. There has been an obvious improvement with her posture. She can keep her balance while standing on one leg and can stand unassisted for a longer period of time. She can walk further with the help of a walker and her gait is better than before. The involuntary movements of both lower limbs and the face have been greatly reduced. The overall strength of the right lower limb has slightly increased.

Just a few words about Ann-Sophie, she is doing so well she walks with her walker all the time in our house. She is also able to do some exercise, not on a daily basis, but often.

2009-5-31

Ann-Sophie continues to exercise. She is able to speak, but slowly and practices walking without any assistance. She has gotten a little taller and has gained some weight.

She has finished school now and enjoys doing a lot of exercise and insists on doing it by herself as well as taking a bath by herself. She was never able to do this before now, and she can feed herself as well. Now, she only needs to ask for help occasionally.

2009-6-25

Ann-Sophie rides her bicycle with her father every day. Her muscle strength has increased a lot.
